Ms. Kathy,
Thank you for sharing John with us, Sacred Harp Singers. He is an amazing being and a very good mentor. I am blessed to have known him even for just a year, but he has touched my heart in an encouraging way. When he took me under his wings, he taught me about how magnificent Sacred Harp is. Persuading me to take part in every sing and even lead;giving me that smile, assuring me that I am doing it right. He would be dearly missed and I would never forget a great person like him even to this day.

Katleen,
You have my prayers and sympathy during your time of greivment. John was a great friend to all of us at the Math Lab. I met John in 1966 when I became a film reader there. It was my pleasure to work with him until he retired. He was a great friend and I will miss humor and conversation when we saw each other. God bless you.

He was a light in this world of darkness - I will miss him. A friend of song, a leader, a singer - extending the gift of kindness and generosity to all he met. I feel blessed to have shared time singing with and knowing him.

Kathy,
Our sincerest condolences. I especially remember John's wry sense of humor, he caught me off guard several times and it was a joy to see his response when he knew, "I gottcha." Know that Sandy and I are thinking of you during this sad time.
