Nicholas Andrew Smith

Nicholas Andrew Smith, 17, died in Huntsville, Ala., on June 18, 2013. He was born in Huntsville on Jan. 23, 1996. He was a very good student, taking advanced classes in high school as a Junior and was looking forward to his Senior year. He wanted to attend the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He was a great athlete; he had a passion for soccer and was a member of the Elite Soccer Team. He was so smart, always asking questions, he was so creative and thought of new ways to do things.

He loved the times he lived here in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. We spent most of the time together outside on the water, boating, tubing, fishing, crabbing, and even camping on the intercoastal islands. He believed in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, he attended Church in Huntsville and here at Shalimar Baptist Church.

Nicholas is survived by father, Brian C. Smith; step-mother, Lesa Gant Smith; sister, Lauren Smith; brothers, Dr. Cody Smith and Benjamin Smith; step-sisters, Kaylin Williams, Rachel Gorman, Ashley Gorman and Erin Hardy; paternal mother, Nancy Smith; grandmothers, Bonnie Smith and Nancy Gaston; aunts, Dr. Dana Smith and Theresa Gaston; uncles, David Smith and Grady Gaston; and cousins, Rachel Smith, Kyle Smith and Shannon Gaston.
