Richard Morris Obituary
He was born March 1, 1942, in Chicago, to John L. and Ruth E. (Moss) Morris.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his two daughters, Ginger (Brian) Green of Bentonville, Ark., and Hope (Rod) Ramirez of Modesto, Calif.; his grandchildren, Emerald Green, Rebecca Forsman, Gabrielle Forsman, Lyric Vidal, Ashli Perry and Blake Perry; two great-grandchildren; his brother, John L. Morris Jr; two sisters, Patricia E. Sewell and Colleen Morris; and his close friends, Lauri and Jack Slaughter and family and the McHenry Police Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Stacie Hersha.
The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral at noon Tuesday, May 10, at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry.
Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in McHenry.
Memorials would be appreciated to the family.

I've been checking on your grave now that I'm back up here. To anyone reading this know that someone(s) have been taken the 3 flags & stand I have put on his grave. Today I found that they are taking the pennies that I leave every time I'm there. Asked God to get them.

He is my older brother. I remember getting calls from him when he was in Nam. He liked to pick on me a lot. What I wouldn't give to have that happen some more.

I was so sad to here of Rocky's passing he was a real life angel on earth. I had the pleasure of waiting on him for 19yrs. When he would shop at Sullivan Foods as one of my regular customers I never ever saw him in a bad mood. Even when he was sick he was always kind and smiling. He will be missed.

Angel and friend he was to us all. All of us who saw him and talked to him on a daily basis will grieve for quite some time. His stories are history that should have been written down and his kindness should be lessons taught. Such a gift we all had to be part of his life. Rest in peace my friend and thank you for playing match maker for me.

GOD offers us opportunities to meet and know some very special people in life. I know I am not alone when I say that Rock was one of those very special people. He always had a way of making you feel special and bringing a smile to your face. I had the pleasure of knowing Rock for over 8 years and I have to say I have never met anyone as caring and giving of themselves. You have given so much to so many, no one thing as special as your friendship. I am thankful for having you in my life and I thank you for letting me be part of yours. I Love You My Friend and I will miss you dearly.

Dad, I thought about you every day... I told my daughters all about you... I just wish I had the chance to say good-bye.... I miss you more than anyone could possibly know.... Please tell everyone you have met up with since your passing....that I love them and miss them.

I am so saddened to hear of Rock"s death, I have known Rock since around 1976, I worked at Sullivan Foods where Rock was a reg. customer. He always had a smile on his face and kind words to be said. My prayers for his children & family.
