Reola Smyth Obituary

CRYSTAL LAKE – Reola M. Smyth, 95, of Crystal Lake, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Fair Oaks Health Care Center.
She was born in 1916 to Roy and Grace Whipple and was raised in Lansing, Mich. She moved to the Chicagoland area when she married Bruce Smyth in the 1940s. She was a resident of Crystal Lake since 1968. She enjoyed sports; she played softball as a young girl and enjoyed playing golf into her 90s.
She is survived by her sons, Dave (Judy) Smyth and John Smyth; and her granddaughter, Dr. Kaarin Smyth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce; her daughter, Patricia Smyth; her parents; her brother, Douglas Whipple; and her sister, Marjorie O'Dell.
The visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The visitation will continue from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 5, at the funeral home. At noon there will be a procession to Windridge Memorial Park in Cary for an interment service.
Memorials may be made to Fair Oaks Heath Care Center, 471 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014.

Dear Dave & Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you say your final goodbyes to your Mother. Both the Isle Royale Assoc. and Dick and I personally will make a contribution to the Fair Oaks Health Care Center in your Mother's memory.
