Terese Iverson Obituary

CARY – Terese J. Iverson, nee Plescia, 50, of Cary, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 1, 2011, surrounded by family and countless friends.

She was a wonderful mother who took great pride in her family. She was a warm and generous person who lived life with a positive outlook. She will be remembered for her wit and dry humor and be cherished for her big, bright smile and sparkling eyes.

She took great pleasure at being a member of Christ Renews His Parish – Team 15, also known as the "Purple Ladies." She delighted in flowers and surrounded herself and her home with all kinds. She was a gracious host. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was initiator of the annual New Year's Day Cook-off, which her family thoroughly enjoyed. She loved working at Golden Eagle Community Bank, making countless friends while she was there. She enjoyed attending her sons' sporting events at the Cary Park District, Sts. Peter and Paul and Marian Central Catholic High School.

She is survived by her wonderful husband, Emil W. Iverson III; her loving sons, Daniel and Kevin Iverson; her siblings, Roseanne (Philip) Chasin, Peter (Grace) Plescia, Richard Plescia, Michelle (the late David) Gasinski and Antoinette Plescia; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Theresa (Capocasa) Plescia.

The visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 6, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 410 N. First St., Cary. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.Tuesday, June 7, at the church. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, 1185 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wilmot House Donations, in care of University of Michigan Community Health Services, 2025 Traverwood Drive, Suite A2, Ann Arbor, MI 48105; or to a trust fund set up for her children, Iverson Memorial College Fund, in care of Golden Eagle Community Bank, P.O. Box 1930, Woodstock, IL 60098.

Her family would like to thank all of her friends who provided support, smiles and meals. We will be eternally grateful. We also would like to thank the hospice teams who took wonderful care of her while at Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois.

I think of Terese and feel sad that she isn´t with us as a friend a mom a wife a daughter a sister. I know the loss of her is great for all of us but much more so for her children and husband. I know she is with God but that still doesn´t stop the ache for her to be with us. I pray for all of us whose lives were touched by Terese that we can find our way through grief and be come closer to a sense of peace.

Truly a wonderful person. The Blasco's all have fond memories of the Plescia's. I remember coming over often with my parents and all of us young girls played Barbies in the basement. Most of all I remember her laughter and the love she had for others. We will all continue to keep her and the "ENTIRE" PLESCIA FAMILY in our prayers.

Terese was truly a lovely lady in every sense of the word. I am honored to have been an aunt-in-law. We loved the time we were able to spend with her and the family. She lighted up so many lives! Helen Lambin

To Emil, Danny, Kevin and all my dear cousins.. Teresa is going to be missed by many and words can't describe the pain we are all feeling. She lived her life with such dignity and respect for others. What a blessing we all had to have her part of our lives. She still is part of our lives but in a different way. Our Angel will surround us all in the years to come until someday we shall all be together in Heaven.. I know Teresa wants us to go on and be happy . Like she said to me when I was crying over her bedside, "Don't worry, Gina, I am going to be fine, everything is fine.. I love you Teresa , You are always in my heart forever. My thoughts and prayers are with Emil and Danny and Kevin. What a fine job you have done raising them both to be great people too.

I want to give you my condolences on the loss of Terese. I go back well over a hundred years knowing the Perrone, and Capocasa family. Terese's Grandmother and my Mother were friends in San Sosti, I was a life long friend of Laura, Therese and Josephine. Aunt Laura and I are the only two survivors, and it conjures memories that go back over 80 years.
Emil's family were neighbors in Deerfield. I know that there will be a lot of grieving in your loss, but I will keep her in my prayers and thoughts.

Emil, Danny and Kevin,
I will always remember Terese as such a loving, caring and thoughtful person and one who exhibited joy and kindness to all. Her smile and laughter were so inviting and welcoming. I will cherish my memories of her - especially the wonderful holiday visits. Emil, Danny, and Kevin,
Jim, Nick, Chris, Tom and I have been remembering the wonderful times with your family. Terese was one of the kindest people we met when we lived in Cary. And what a wonderful sense of humor! I can still hear her voice in my memory. You may remember she kept our cats once for us. Once. She laughed about how they hid in her couch all week. She and I spent wonderful days with the kids together when they were young, or at the rink when Danny and Nick played hockey, or golfing together (remember when she kept me away for hours while Jim got my surprise party together?). Just hanging out talking in the yards or driveways was the best. She was one of the kindest people I knew, and could always make me relax when I was tense or upset. She let everything just roll off her back in such a good natured way, she was an example to me. I cherish the times we had together, checking out our gardens. She has been your family core, and she will always be loved and important to you, even if you feel lost right now. Even if my family cannot come right now, please know that we grieve, too, for her light and the warmth of the person she was. We will be praying for you, and send you all our love.

Emil, Danny and Kevin,
Please accept my deep and sincere sympathy. I am an old high school friend, alerted to Terese's passing through the ad hoc Carmel girls email chain. My heart aches for you in this great loss of wife and mother. I echo others comments about her beautiful smile, humor and love of life. You are all in my prayers. So sad that this bright light has been dimmed. My belief is that she is now free of pain, and in a much better place. I know too well, that this does not easy fully, your grief and loss.

Although I did not have the pleasure of knowing Terese personally, I can see through these Guest Book entries what a wonderful person she was and how she graced the lives of those around her. I remember the gentleness, affection and care that Emil expressed when he talked of his wife and family at work over the years. Emil, you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers during this time of great loss.

I went to high school with the lovely Terese ... I'm not the first person to mention her wonderful sense of humor. It seems to me to be a great thing that people remember you for making them laugh or smile. She was somehow calmer and wiser than the rest of us. I can see how these qualities in adulthood would have made her a great colleague, friend, wife and mother. I am so sorry to learn she was ill and is now gone. I pray for her and for her family.
