Marie and Ed's Family...You don't know me,but I have the happiest memories of Ed. He,his brother Jim, our pal Jim Gleeson, and I, shared many a lively and interesting conversation over lunch in the Reynolds Club Coffee Shop at the University of Chicago when we were all students there 1n the late '40s and early '50s. Ed was always friendly, understanding, a man of real humanity, integrity, and tenacity. I first met him when he came directly to the Christmas Concert of De La Salle High School (Jim was a member of the DLS band)in the evening of the very day he'd been discharged in 1945--Jim was totally amazed to see him coming through the doors of Orchestra Hall on Michigan Ave.! Ed was a brilliant student, always studying and alert, a real inspiration to us younger guys. This combination of intellectual curiosity, determination, and friendliness made him a dynamic, disciplined and eager person who you wanted to be with.
Dr. Ed Wilt is a man I'll never forget, along with his late brother, Jim, it's a real gift to have known such a phenomenal man...may he and Jim
enjoy their eternal home in the peace
and joy they so richly earned.
