Donald Schultz Obituary

WOODSTOCK – Donald C. Schultz, 71, of Woodstock, died Monday, May 2, 2011, at Hospice of Northeastern Illinois Inpatient Unit in Woodstock.
He was born April 27, 1940, in Lake Geneva, Wis., to Charles and Harriet (Knull) Schultz. He married Kathie Cross on June 18, 1960.
He was a member at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Woodstock. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957-60. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He loved to golf and bowl. He was known as a terrific storyteller; his friends enjoyed listening to him. He loved camping, fishing and traveling. Ship cruises were one of his favorite travels. He was loved and will be missed by those who loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathie Schultz; his mother, Harriet Schultz; a son, Tim (Tammy) Schultz; two grandchildren, Tonya (Sam) Guercio and Bobbi Sennett; a sister, Roxann Giblin; and many sisters, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Jim Schultz; and a daughter, Cynthia Swan.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 5, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1320 Dean St., Woodstock. The Rev. Tom Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in McHenry County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
