Fred Stromsdorfer Obituary
He was born April 9, 1937, in Chicago, to George and Pauline (Bathelt) Stromsdorfer. He was raised and educated in Chicago, and on May 2, 1959, he married Rita B. Nowakowski.
The couple made their home in the Aurora area, and he worked for Illinois Bell/Ameritech until retiring in 1991. In August 1999, the couple moved to Sun City, Huntley.
He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, the Woodchucks, Sun City Sportsman Club and served on the Board of the Newport Bay Condo Association. He enjoyed the outdoors, canoeing, kayaking and motorcycling.
He is survived by his wife, Rita of Huntley; his children, Christopher Stromsdorfer of Shorewood, Deborah (Greg Bubp) Stromsdorfer of Rockford and Dawn Stromsdorfer of Naperville; his sisters, Elaine Teissler of Santa Ana, Calif., and Susan (Jim) Zacharski of Des Plaines; and many nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be at a later date.
Memorials in his name may be made to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois.
