Beatrice Moore Obituary

POMONA, Calif. – Beatrice Nan Ferris Moore, 95, died Sunday, May 8, 2011, in the Health Center at Mount San Antonio Gardens, Pomona.
She was born March 8, 1916, in Harvard, to Beatrice Gaye and Howard J. Ferris, former president of Starline.
She moved to California and became a specialist in early childhood education. On Dec. 23, 1947, she married Douglas H. Moore in Westwood Community Church. They remained in California to work and raise their family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Eric Moore of Maple Grove, Minn.; her daughter, Nancy Moore of Avila Beach, Calif.; her grandchildren, Nathaniel and Daniel Moore, Frances Moeller and Jacob Bruns; and her great-grandchild, Kiley Moore.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Hugh and Robert Ferris; her sister, Joan Ferris Pope; and their spouses.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 12, in the Health Center at Mount San Antonio Gardens, 900 E. Harrison, Pomona, Calif. Burial will be in the Ferris family plot at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Harvard.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Mount San Antonio Homeship Fund, which supports residents in need of financial assistance.
