Clyde Harbath Obituary

HUNTLEY – Clyde Charles Harbath, 90, of Huntley and formerly of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Valley Hi Nursing Home in Woodstock with his loving family by his side.
He was born Oct. 14, 1920, in Stratford, Wis., to the late Arthur and Inez Harbath. He married June Trask on July 23, 1953, in Shawano, Wis., after returning from the Korean War.
He attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering before serving in World War II. He proudly served in the Navy in World War II and the Korean War. As a young man, he was in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Shawano.
He was a retired master carpenter/craftsman. He was an avid golfer, loved working in his garden, and had a very wry sense of humor. He enjoyed playing cards, board games and music. He was a hardworking and gentle man. As a man of few words, when he did talk he had something to say.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois for their loving and compassionate care for Clyde.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, June; his daughters; Wendy Whitney Harbath and Jeann (Dave) Molliconi; and a sister, Bess Kuckuk.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Harbath Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor would be appreciated to the American Heart Association, 208 S. LaSalle St. #1500, Chicago, IL 60601, 312-346-4675 or www.americanheart.org; or Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois, 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington, IL 60010, 847-381-5599 or www.hospiceanswers.org.
