Josephine Gibata Obituary

GALVA – Josephine Dawn Gibata, 83, of Galva and formerly of Arlington Heights, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Toulon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Toulon.
She was born July 19, 1927, in Chicago, to Arthur and Josephine Weber. She married Walter Gibata on June 16, 1948, in Chicago.
Before retirement, she had worked as a receptionist for Panasonic Corp. for 23 years.
She was a loving and generous wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to garden, crochet, cook, and take care of her beloved pets.
She never knew anyone in life to be a stranger.
She is survived by her husband; three children, Karen Rohn of Galva, John Gibata of Palatine and Gary Gibata of Arlington Heights; two grandchildren, Frank (Nancy) Keyser of McHenry and Steven Smith of Chicago; a brother, Arthur (the late Elaine) Weber of Des Plaines; two great-grandchildren, Haylie and Jacob Gibata of Island Lake; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and a grandson.
A private celebration of her life will be at a later date. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Memorials may be directed to OSF Hospice or to the Henry County Humane Society.
