Mary Katherine Edinger Wallace Obituary

CUPERTINO, Calif. – Mary Katherine Edinger Wallace, 91, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, in Cupertino.
Mary Kay was born June 19, 1920, in Woodstock, to Lester and Marian (Marble) Edinger. She was married to Raymond J. Wallace.
She attended William & Mary College, graduating in 1941 with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, Painting and Sculpture. In 1942 she was commissioned a lieutenant in the Women's Army Corp and served with Air Intelligence in the European theater.
Following her WAC service she attended the University of California, Berkeley, and was one of the first two women to earn a master's degree in City Planning. She was then employed in the city planning department of Sunnyvale, Calif., becoming Director of Planning in 1964.
She is survived by her brothers, Richard L. Edinger of San Carlos, Calif., Sidney M. Edinger of Woodstock and Lester D. Edinger of Grand Marais, Minn.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Think it was the last time she and Dick were here, we were in the car driving around and had a big discussion as to whether it was Gerry St. or Jerry St.?? She was a fine lady. Am sure all of you brothers thought she was too... Alice Nulle
