Meredith Gaertner Obituary

BURLINGTON, Wis. – Meredith "Sue" Gaertner, 67, of Burlington, died Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Aurora VNA Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa, Wis.
She was born March 26, 1944, in Milwaukee, to Manuel J. and Lucele (Trotts) Meyers. She grew up in southeastern Wisconsin and graduated from Mukwonago High School. In August 1965, she married John A. Gaertner in Waukesha, Wis. After marriage, they made their home in Genoa City and McHenry.
She was a machine operator for John Sterling Corp. in Richmond for 25 years, retiring in 2009. She was an avid reader, and she liked to decorate around the house. She grew up on a horse ranch and was very involved in horseback riding.
Survivors include her children, Lori (Tom) Sirianni, Lisa (Ed) Mahler, John Gaertner, Kelly (John) Gacek and Renee Gaertner; her grandchildren, Adam Gaertner, Alexander Sirianni, Jacob Sirianni, Tori Fisher, Drew Gaertner, AJ Sirianni, Brady Gaertner and JJ Gacek; her sister, Gladene Wood; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father; her mother and stepfather, Lucele and Charles Thompson; and her husband, John.
A memorial gathering will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Hawk's View, 7377 Krueger Road, Lake Geneva, Wis.
Memorials have been suggested to World Wildlife Fund or to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research.
