Jackson Grabow Obituary

McHENRY - Jackson Alan Grabow, 2, of McHenry, a little angel sent from heaven above, left us Sunday, April 5, 2009, at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

He was born Nov. 7, 2006, in McHenry, to Brandt A. and Donna E. (Rupp) Grabow. He fought a very difficult battle against brain cancer since December. Even though he lived only two short years, he touched so many hearts and will be missed by everyone. He was a brave little warrior who brought smiles to the faces of anyone he met. He loved Spider-Man and "Star Wars," and he often was heard singing his song about his favorite character, Iron Man. He was very brave when it came to his battle against his arch nemesis, cancer.

Survivors include his loving parents, Brandt and Donna; and a big brother, Devin, all of whom will be lost without him. His grandparents, Dan and Karen Grabow of McHenry, John Rupp of McHenry and Peggy (Max) Lindsey of Oakwood, were blessed to have been part of his life. He also leaves his great-grandparents, Wanda (the late Walter) Stupey of Burlington, Wis., Roger Grabow of Hebron and Doris Sumpter of Florida; and his aunts and uncles, Clint and Jessica Grabow of Wonder Lake and Brian and Tammy Rupp of Genoa City, Wis.

The visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 10, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 404 N. Green St., McHenry.

Interment will be private.

For those wishing to send an expression of condolence, the family suggests memorials to the Jackson Grabow Fund, in care of Amcore Bank, 4101 W. Shamrock Lane, McHenry, IL 60050.

Donna and Brandt -
My heart goes out to you at this difficult time. Please know that you are ever in my thoughts and prayers. Jackson was a very special little boy, and he fought bravely. He rests happily now in the arms of Jesus. No more pain, no more suffering - he has been set free from his cancer as well as all other ills.

Dear Donna and Brandt
You are so loved ! We are heartbroken with our little Jackson not being here with us anymore. Your hearts are hurting but you are very lucky parents. You have so many memories of such a wonderful son that made everyone love him and just get right down and play with him. He had expressions that only Jackson could do. Please remember Nana and Papaw will always carry him in our hearts. You gave us a beautiful grandson and I think no one can be more proud of how you both raised Jackson with a heart bigger than anything. You both went through so much with Little Jackson. Keep your faith strong, your love strong and let God heal you.

I am so sorry to hear about Jackson! He fought so hard and was such a huge inspiration to everyone he came across! Even though he is much younger than me, I look up to him and he is a hero in my book! He will always be in my heart and prayers! I will never forget the St. Baldrick's assembly at West, Jackson's expressions were priceless. I am glad he is not suffering anymore and he is in a better place! God bless you Jackson and your family!
