Monica A. Salemi Born: Sept. 17, 1954 in Chicago Died: April 20, 2014; in McHenry Monica A. Salemi, age 59, of Spring Grove, died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Centegra Hospital-McHenry. She was born September 17, 1954, in Chicago to Louis and Rita (Ronkowski) Borowski. On January 3, 1975, she married Steven A. Salemi in Chicago. A resident of Spring Grove since 2007, Monica was a former resident of McHenry for nearly 20 years. Monica was the former owner of Cooper Kiddie College in McHenry, and was a member of St. Mary's Church in McHenry. She was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed fishing and swimming. She loved to spend her summers as a resident of Woodruff, Wisconsin. Family was most important to her, and she treasured time she could spend with family. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Steven; three children, Ann Nicole (Jason) Dyer-Salemi, Laura Salemi, and Matthew Salemi; a grandchild, Gianna Rae; her mother, Rita (the late Kenneth) Jeschke; and a brother, Louis (Stacey) Borowski. She was preceded in death by her father, Louis; and a sister, Laura. A memorial service will be held at the Salemi home on May 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Please call the family for additional information.
