ROBERT TILLER SR. GARY, IN
Robert Tiller Sr., age 84 of Gary, Indiana exchanged time for eternity during the early morning of January 14, 2016. Robert Sr., was born in Abbeville, Alabama to the union of Mary Lee Johnson and Perry Tiller on March 10, 1931. He was the eldest of their five children. Robert was baptized in Abbeville and accepted Christ as his Savior at a very early age. He was then confirmed as a Lutheran by Pastor Norman Brandt in 1986 at St. John Lutheran Church in Gary where he was a member until his passing. Robert retired from Inland Steel #3 Open Hearth after 31 years of service. He was also employed at Silver Cleaners in East Chicago, Indiana for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; three siblings: Queen Ester Scott, Henry Grady Tiller and James Thomas Tiller; two daughters: Stephanie and Robyne Tiller. Robert Leaves to cherish fond memories his devoted and loving wife of 64 yeas Louise Tiller; three children: Melanie (Arvett) Mason of Denver, CO, Liona (Herbert) Bullock of Indianapolis, IN and Robert Jr.(Cheryl ) Tiller of Waukegan, IL; one sister, Ruby Tiller of Columbus OH; sisters-in-law: Deloris Berry of Gary, IN and Darnell Williams of East Chicago, IN; Barbara Tiller of Sandusky, OH; brother-in-law, William Scott Sr. of Lima, OH; aunts: Maude Stewart of Decatur GA, Lucy Bulger and Queen Mae Johnson of Freemont, OH and Eunice Davis of Elyria, OH; 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, other relatives and many dear friends. Visitation Thursday January 21, 2016 at 9:00a.m. Family Hour 10:00a.m. with funeral service to follow at 11:00a.m. all service at St. John Lutheran Church 2235 West 10th Avenue Gary, Indiana Rev. Dave Weber officiating. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park.

Grandaddy I want to thank you and Grandma for ALWAYS being there for my mother, me, my siblings and my children. I cannot thank you enough for having the patience of Job. You all never made us feel unwelcome. As long as you had a roof over your head so did we.
