Stacey Gospodarek Obituary
Stacey Lee Gospodarek (nee Welch), age 25 of Hobart, was called to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer on June 15, 2011. She was a loving daughter, wife, granddaughter, sister, and friend. Stacey was a graduate of Hobart High School, class of 2004. She received her associate degree in Respiratory Therapy from IUN. Stacey worked as a Respiratory Therapist at Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Roscoe and Virginia Samples; paternal grandmother, Carol Welch; and paternal grandfather-in-law, Donald Gospodarek. Stacey is survived by her husband, Justin Gospodarek, whom she married on July 24, 2010; parents: John and Patty Welch, Jr.; paternal grandmother, Mary Smith; paternal grandfather, John Welch; sister, Kristy (Jason) Smith; parents-in-law: Joseph and Donna Gospodarek; brother-in-law: Kyle Gospodarek and his fiancee, Sarah Page; her dog, Leo; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral prayers will begin at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St., Hobart on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. proceeding to St. Bridget Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with and Rev. Kevin McCarthy officiating. Interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family at Burns Funeral Home, Hobart on Monday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105. www.burnsfuneral.com

Stacey's life, though way too brief, has touched so many hearts; both through her wonderful personality and her amazing courage. She is a shining example of a truly beautiful person.

May the Lord be with Patty and John. We know the Lord is with Stacey that is why she is home resting and being an Angel. Patty and John my heart goes out to you. The loss of a child is something we should never go through. I love you all and hope you find peace. Remember she is forever looking over you all. I looked after her for 5 years in grade school. What a wonderful loving child with a great big smile.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Welch and Gospodarek families in this sad time. Stacey was a sweet child who grew into a strong, beautiful and kind woman. She touched the lives of many and will always be an inspiration. She had more strength and courage at a young age than anyone I know. She will be missed. Stacey, you will be sadly missed at work. We will always love you and keep you in our hearts and memories. You were a great co-worker and friend. Never once did I ever hear you complain what you were going through. You endured it all bravely. Our little trooper. Now you are at rest, a life that was cut in the prime of life.
