JO ELLEN NICHOLLS (NEE TOTH) MERRILLVILLE, IN JoEllen Nicholls, age 66, of Merrillville, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Tom; three children: Jon Thomas (Kristin) Nicholls of Charlotte, NC, Ryan Michael Nicholls of Chicago, IL, and Sara Katherine (Kevin) Petrites of Indianapolis, IN; five grandchildren: Jakob, Zoe, Kennedy, Kaden, and Riley; one brother, Albert (Debbie) Toth of Lake Station; one sister, Sandy (Richard) Duff of Pittsburgh, PA; and nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by parents: Albert and Helen Toth. JoEllen was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of Merrillville High School, Class of 1964. Jo Ellen was a member of Crown Point Corvette Club. Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 from Pruzin Brothers Chapel with Rev. Larry Fugett officiating. Services to conclude at the funeral home with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago (formerly Children's Memorial Hospital). I have many fond memories of JoEllen because of the friendship of our children. Many hours of sitting in middle school bleechers, watching pom pom practices, and watching our children grow up. JoEllen was a lovely woman who will be missed. My prayers for the family.
