Rest easy, Sleep well my brother.
Know the line has held,
your job is done.
Rest easy, Sleep well.
Others have taken up where you fell -
Peace, Peace and Farewell
Anon
And tonight Officer Matan will stand at the side of some new rookie cops side, just as another fallen hero did when he took the badge. And the thin blue line holds.

Dad, I can't believe this day has come. There is comfort in knowing you're not suffering any longer. I'm glad that at the end you were surrounded by our family.

I am so very proud to be your daughter, to be a Matan, I mean how many girls can say their dad did background checks on their boyfriends! I know you were just looking out for me. :)

You were a wonderful grandpa to my boys, you have taught and guided Tony into becoming a great man who hopes to walk in your shoes and make you proud! You got to meet your first great-grand child, Sophia. She will grow up knowing all about grandpa Joe.

Football season just won't be the same without you, but I'm sure you'll be able to hear me yell at the tv from Heaven.

It's our job now to take care of mom so don't worry, I'm here now and she'll never be alone. Rest now. I love ya dad, thank you for all you've sacrificed for us, I hope we've made you proud. Love, Becky (aka Becca Sue or Suz) Lol

Dad, I feel so blessed that I had you in my life for so many years. You were my first love, your "daddy's girl". It was a privilege and an honour to have you as my father, but more than that, It was a privilege and an honour to have been your daughter. I will always have your memories, but you will forever be in my heart. Love you daddy. Watch over us and please visit the Rainbow Bridge to see all our fur babies.;)
