Gerald Majewski Obituary
Gerald "Jerry" Majewski, age 76, late of Hegewisch, passed away, Sunday July 13, 2014. Beloved husband of Patricia M. Majewski. Loving father of Lisa (James) Wiederkehr. Caring bonus father of Carrie (Antonio) Knezevich, Wendy (Daniel) Nagle and Andrew (Paula) Stavrakakes. Devoted grandfather of Emma, Melissa, Nicole and Bianca. Proud great grandfather of Alex. Kind uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by wife, Patricia L.; siblings: Norbert, Joan and Rosemary. Gerald honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He proudly served the city of Chicago for 23 years as a Chicago firefighter. Gerald was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers' Local Union No. 73 and eucharistic minister for St. Columba Church and St. Margaret Hospital. Funeral Services 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Opyt Funeral Home 13350 S. Baltimore Ave., Chicago, IL 60633 to St. Columba Church for 10:00 a.m. Mass. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. Visitation 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2014. 773.646.1133
