KRISTOPHER R. KINGERY, SR. VALPARAISO, IN
Kristopher R. Kingery, Sr., age 37 of Valparaiso, formerly of Hobart, passed away January 13, 2015. Kris was a graduate of Hobart High School, Class of 1996, where he was a standout athlete on the Brickie football, baseball, wrestling, and track teams. He was a proud member of Local 150 Operating Engineers, coached for the Wheeler High School Bearcats, and coached his sons in wrestling and baseball. Kris was a loving husband, dad, son, and brother. He will be greatly missed by all the hearts he touched. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald; grandparentS: George and Helen Kingery, and Jesus Duque. Kris is survived by his loving wife, Allison; three sons: Kristopher Jr., Kaydon, and Koltin; loving mother, Sylvia (Dana Faught) Kingery; two brothers: Anthony Kingery and Thomas A. Olivarez; two sisters: Angela (Tony) Maza and Dawn Rietman; grandmother Helen Kingery of Valparaiso; mother and father-in-law Val and Doug Tuft; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Friends may visit with Kris's family from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015, at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St., Hobart, IN, with a funeral service following immediately at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kris's family for the continued care of his three sons. www.burnsfuneral.com

I am deeply saddened at the news of my friend Kris's passing. I was fortunate enough to know and have competed against Kris since age 11 through highschool....he was a true warrior in heart and spirit and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. I was fortunate to spend some great times with him in our early 20's and was so happy to see him whenever we crossed paths. Kris was not only a supremely talented, tough as nails and hard working athlete, but he was also just a genuinely kind hearted and wonderful person...I will miss you brother...God bless you my friend.

I had to get off the phone crying yesterday upon hearing this tragic news...Kris was a warrior at heart and in spirit and I have so many fond memories of competing in football against Kris from age 11 through highschool, we were rivals and friends and my admiration for him as a man grew immensely as I got to know him better in my early 20's...I can honestly say everytime I ever saw Kris or he saw me we were both genuinely happy to see each other and for each other. Kris, you will be dearly missed by all and forgotten by none. May God bless you as you arrive in heaven.
