So sorry to hear of Larry's passing. We had some great times in the early to mid 80's playing softball for OLC in the Crown Point church league. Larry always played to win and set a great example for the younger guys on the team. My thoughts and prayers are with the Bentley family.

My sincere condolences to the Bentley family. Mr. Bentley was my Social Studies teacher at Holy Angels and he taught all of my brothers and sisters at Holy Angels and/or BNI. He was an amazing teacher and he taught us more than just what was in the text books. He genuinely cared about his students and we were lucky to know him.

I remember Mr. Bentley as being one of the first male lay teachers at Holy Angels. After quite a few stern nuns and many female lay teachers, it was quite a change to walk into his class. He was friendly and personable and it was always a joy to go to my Social Studies class. Our family later had the pleasure of continuing our relationship outside of the school walls when he married into the Cafiero family, our dear family friends. I look at this sad occasion with the thoughts back to being raised with the understanding that when someone is called to God before their time, it was because God wanted them more. Well, he got a good one when he called Mr. Bentley home. RIP Mr.B!!

Mr. Bentley was equal parts man and legend and 100% overall great guy.
There is some irony in the sense that he taught history because of his passion and zeal as a parent, teacher, friend, coach, and husband he became part of history as we all recognize his profound impact on us all.
To this day, I remember having you as my homeroom teacher over 20 years ago. You are a source of pride for Bishop Noll!
Rest in peace Mr. Bentley.

Mr. Bentley was one of my favorite teachers at Bishop Noll. He made history fun. His love of teaching was evident, and his humor was infectious. He was always up for a good argument about a grade, and it was always a great victory when you could convince him that you deserved full credit. He will be missed by many, and heaven is rejoicing in having him home. My prayers and deepest sympathy goes out to his family. Rest in peace LB.
