Dear Figueroa Family, How sad it is to read of Willie's passing. He truly was "charismatic"; always smiling and joking. God bless you as you lay him to rest.

So many memories after 54 yrs. The early years of being "across the street" neighbors. It seemed every year brought another Figueroa or Lichtle into the world & we grew along with our kids. There were birthdays, cookouts, 4th of Julys & swimming in the backyard pool. When you kids moved to Merrillville Bob convinced your dad that he too could "build a backyard pool" & there were a few times after it caved in that he wished he had'nt listened. The 4 of us loved our (adult getaways)especially canoeing at Turkey Run, except when we all came back with poison ivy. And then there was our weekly pinochle game. On many occasion we would hear the early morning delivery of the Sunday paper. Your dad took this game very seriously & always laughingly complained that Lo & I talked too much, didnt pay attention & "played unconscious". But your mom & I won most of the time. And I can't forget the food--your folks introduced us to Mexican food & taking rolaids & tums thru the years have been well worth it. We talked about our kids & grandkids alot. You already know how much you were loved by him but he was also so proud of you all. He would always start by saying "I don't want to brag, but--" and then continue to tell me all the latest news. We are so sorry for your loss, our hearts are breaking too.

Our family is saddened and our hearts are heavy as we say good bye to one of the sweetest persons God created.
Uncle Will had an incredible gift of making all of us feel appreciated, accepted and special on every encounter with him. It is said that you won't remember the material things that a person gives you as much as you will remember how they made you feel. Uncle Will always made you feel warm and fuzzy inside...valued and loved. We were all lucky to have someone like that touch our lives. Yes, he will be missed. Rest well, my dear uncle, in the arms of our Heavenly Father, until you greet us in Paradise with a big Uncle Willie hug.
