Joan "Joanie" Erwin

JOAN "JOANIE" ERWIN VALPARAISO, IN Joan "Joanie" Erwin age 62 of Valparaiso, formerly of Hobart, passed away on June 14, 2016 with a hint of a smile on her face. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Margaret Erwin. She is survived by her loving siblings: Sandra (Josh) Edwards of MN, Deborah Erwin of CA, Lynn (Don) Fuller of CA, Jean (Terry) Luedtke of Hobart, Bruce (Robin) Erwin of Valparaiso, Gary (Laura Labadie) Erwin of Hobart, Laura (Howard) Oaf of Hobart, Jeff Erwin of NH, and Beth Tarchala (Brice Mauser) of CA; numerous loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a cast of loving cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who were by her side regularly. She was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Joanie was an artist who enjoyed reproducing drawings by Walt Disney. She read her Bible and went to church when she was able, and surfed Facebook for the latest photos of her family using the iPad mounted to her wheelchair. She knew everyone's birthday by heart and sent greeting cards so often that one would think she secretly held stock in Hallmark. Joanie loved her family with all her heart. Friends are invited to visit with Joanie's family on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until the Celebration of Life at 6:30 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th St., Hobart.
