Mrs. Jacobs was my English teacher at Hobart High in 1975. I became an English teacher in part because of this fine lady, and I just retired after 38 years of teaching. She was also the pep club sponsor, and we cherished her kind heart and beauty. Additionally, I remember her bringing her two young sons to Robinson Lake in the summer. I was lifeguarding there, and she would often picnic with her boys. Rest In Peace, and thank you sweet lady.

Condolences to the family. During difficult times as this, it may help lessen the pain by keeping close in mind and heart all the fond and fun memories of her, and reflect on them often. Look to the God of comfort and he will sustain you.

Cathie was our neighbor in Valparaiso in 2012. She was so friendly and a perfect neighbor. She was always in good spirits and easy to talk to. She was a kind person. She will be deeply missed.

I am sad to hear about Cathie passing away. We met at the First Presbyterian Church fellowship during high school years. Cathie was a devoted Christian and a very nice girl. She and I taught at Portage High School and Cathie was a very dedicated teacher. Cathie touched many lives. Condolences to her family.

Cathie was my neighbor in Valparaiso, IN
We shared teaching experiences, and summer days together on occasions.
I'll never forget the day she described the small Ohio town that her daughter-in-law to be was from...
By shear coincidence, I knew the family because I graduated from Bryan High School.
We laughed, we cried, we celebrated.
May Cathie have eternal peace.
Prayerfully,
Paula Ray

So sorry to hear about Cathie. We knew each other for ever. Her mother and my grandmother were best of friends and we grew up together in the Gary First Presbyterian Church. She was a very special and beautiful person both inside and out.

Cathie was such a wonderful woman. We began our teaching career at Portage together, and she was an excellent role model for me. I have been blessed by knowing Cathie. My condolences to the family.
