James Cogdill Obituary

James Esco Cogdill, Sr. Mt. Zion, IL James Esco Cogdill, Sr., 69, of Mt. Zion, passed from this world February 15, 2004 of Cancer at Heritage Manor. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2004 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion, IL,with visitation one hour before service time. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Decatur Memorial Hospital Hospice. He was born August 1, 1934 in Pope County the son of Esco (Ted) and Katherine Crabb Cogdill. He was a truck driver for twenty years with Landstar Inway of Rockford. He was married in Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 2, 1998 to Stephanie Fairbanks of Sioux City, Iowa. He served as a Scout Master of Dyer, Indiana. Surviving are his wife Stephanie of Mt. Zion, sister, Bonnie McCarthy of Mt. Zion, brothers, Paul (Barb) Cogdill of Santa Anna, California, Bob (Marie) Cogdill of Cape Coral, Florida, children, Jim, Jr. (Kelly) Cogdill of Portage, Indiana, Charlotte Hipp of Whiting, Indiana, Debbie (Mike) Walsh of Johnsburg, George (Terry) Cogdill of Hammond, Indiana, Tina (Steve) Murchek of Crete, Darien Cogdill "Shortround" of Ocala, Florida; fifteen grandchildren, one great-grandson; many nieces and nephews and special friend, Kay Cogdill of Gary. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Pam Borries, wife, Opal Cogdill, brother-in-law Tom McCarthy and nephew, Tom Jr. McCarthy. INFO: 217-429-4421
