James E. Bice Griffith, IN James E. Bice, age 91, of Griffith, IN, passed away Tuesday July 24, 2007. Survived by three sons: Tom (Toni) Bice of Crown Point, David (Debora) Bice of Griffith and Robert Bice of Griffith; daughter Peggy Lawrence of Columbus OH; five grandchildren: Robin (Robert) Briggs of Steger, IL, Kristy Bice of Crown Point, Philip (Lauren) Bice of Boulder, CO, Jeffery Bice of Griffith and Margaret Bice of Brownsville, TX; two great-grandchildren: Robert Briggs of Steger, IL and Alexa Chapman of Crown Point; sister Addie (Raymond) Russell of Decatur, AL; daughter-in-law Amelia Bice of Brownsville, TX; special friend Kay Bradley of Calumet City, IL and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Bice was preceded in death by his wife Marguerite; son James Bice Jr.; sister Stella Cloud; brothers Melvin and Grover "Red" Bice, son-in-law Richard Lawrence. Funeral services will be held Saturday July 28, 2007 11:30 a.m. at the Kuiper Funeral Home, Shawn Cornett, minister officiating. Burial Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday 4-8 p.m. at the Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinnman Road, (two blocks south of Ridge Rd) Highland. Mr. Bice was a retired Ironworker of Local 395 of Hammond. Formerly employed with Ameircan Bridge Company of Gary. He was an avid White Sox Fan.
