George Hutman

GEORGE JAMES HUTMAN PORTAGE, IN George James Hutman, age 59, of Portage, IN, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at his home. He was born on January 4, 1948 in Denver, CO to the late George Jerome and Helen Hutman. George was married in 1968 to Yvonne Hotarie, who survives of Portage, IN. He is also survived by his son, George E. Hutman of Portage, IN; daughters: Cheryl Hutman of Michigan City, IN and Rachael Hutman of Portage, IN; brothers: Victor Hutman of Michigan City, IN, Ronald Hutman of Lake Station, IN and Andrew Hutman of Gary, IN. Mr. Hutman was a Portage resident since 1978 coming from Gary, IN. He was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Parish. He served as Secretary of the International Plastic Modelers Society Duneland Chapter and was a former member of the Gold Wing Road Riders of America, Q2 Chapter. Mr. Hutman was a graduate of Andrean High School and attended Purdue University. He worked as a Police Officer for 20 years before retiring from the Gary Police Department. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN with Deacon Robert Bonta officiating. Cremation to follow at Heritage Crematory, Portage, IN. Visitation will be Thursday, November 1, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. until time of services at 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice of Porter County, 501 Marquette St., Valparaiso, IN 46383.
