KENNETH ANDERSON Obituary

ANDERSON--Kenneth C.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Kenneth Charles Anderson on October 9th, 2016 in Baltimore, MD. Ken was born April 27, 1936 in New Haven, CT to Margaret (nee Schulzberg) and Kenneth Theodore Anderson, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Gettsyburg College in 1958 (Phi Beta Kappa, Tau Kappa Epsilon), and from Cornell Law School in 1961. Ken Anderson practiced as an antitrust lawyer for over 50 years, including as Chief of the Special Regulated Industries Section of the Department of Justice Antitrust Division, where he served for three years as the chief government trial counsel in U.S. v. AT&T, a landmark case which resulted in the deregulation of the phone industry. Ken is predeceased by his niece Margot Ann Anderson (2012) and survived by his brother Richard Anderson (Barbara Anderson); his wife Patricia Marsh Anderson, his children Karin Anderson Ponzer (Howard Ponzer) of Croton-on-Hudson, NY, Erik Anderson (Christine Djuric) of Baltimore, MD and Nils Folke Anderson (Alexandra Posen) of Brooklyn, NY, and his grandchildren Katherine, Erika, Cyrus, Bjorn, Celeste and Ava. A memorial celebration will be held in Ken's honor in Baltimore in 2017. For more information: [email protected]. Donations in Ken's honor may be made to The Kenneth C. Anderson Scholarship at The Cooper Union.

I still miss Ken a lot. I think of him whenever I come across someone with the same quick wit that Ken had, when I read about antitrust, or when I pass the Red Star restaurant. He was a good friend and I still think of him a lot.

I remember Ken when we competed for second base position on the New Milford high school baseball team. He was always a team player and a great guy.
