I am saddened to have read about Professor Myren's passing. He was a professor of mine at American University and helped instill in me an appreciation for studying crime and justice.

My condolences to his family and friends.

I'm so very sad that Dick is no longer with us. I was his secretary at American University when he first joined the Center for the Administration of Justice, where he fought hard, and successfully, to convince everyone it should be called the School of Justice. He was such a kind, considerate and fair minded person. It was so obvious how much he loved his family and his eyes always lit up when he spoke about all of you.

I kept in touch with him since I left there in 1977, sending him a birthday greeting every year, and he always sent back a long response about what he'd been up to and how the family was doing. I missed getting that response this year and just today discovered that there will be no more.

The world has lost a very special person.
