EMILIE LOWERRE-JAMBOIS Obituary

LOWERRE-JAMBOIS--Emilie, died peacefully at home on May 25th, her 61st birthday, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Thomas Jambois, loving sister of Mary Lowerre, Timothy Lowerre, Donald Lowerre, Thomas Lowerre (Diane), Donna Kjeldsen (Lance F.) and devoted and caring aunt of Amanda, Anna, Ben, Jayme, Katherine, Kristian and Lance G. Emilie attended Mary Louis Academy in Queens, was a 1971 graduate of the College of New Rochelle and received a masters degree in mathematics from Fordham University and an MSW from Columbia University. Emilie was passionate about everything in her life: her work in psychiatric social work, music, her family and her friends. Emilie was an extraordinary advocate for herself and others battling cancer through her work with Gilda's Club. Emilie has been an inspiration to her family, colleagues and friends and will always be in their hearts. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 1st from 4pm to 7pm at Scotto Funeral Home, 106 1st Place, Brooklyn. Funeral mass will be at the Oratory Church of St. Boniface, 190 Duffield Place, Brooklyn (www.oratory-church.org) on Wednesday, June 2nd at 10am. Rachel and I have been in awe of the indomitable spirit and grace with which Emilie faced her long battle. Having known Tom for 50 years, I know how much joy she brought into his life, and our thoughts are with him in this time of sorrow.

Emilie made you feel that she truly cared about you. She was warm hearted and funny. I will so miss her laugh. My heart goes out to Tom and her siblings. It is a great loss for us all.
