Godfrey Truslow Obituary

TRUSLOW--Godfrey, died on September 23rd, 2007 in Rockport, Maine of complications from prostate cancer. He was born on August 15th, 1934 in Summit, New Jersey and grew up in England and Massachusetts. He attended Charterhouse, Phillips Exeter Academy, and graduated from Harvard in 1956. He served in the US Navy as Captain and worked for Rohr aircraft in San Diego before returning to New York to pursue a career in banking. He worked for Morgan Guaranty for 23 years in New York and Paris. He served as Deputy Finance Commissioner of the City of New York during the Lindsay administration and held positions as President of Arab Bank, Ltd. New York, and General Manager of Nippon Credit Bank before retiring in 1998. He is survived by his wife Olivia, brothers Jim and David, sons Ned and Peter and 5 adored grandchildren. A family graveside service will be held in Dark Harbor, Maine on September 27. A memorial service will be held next July at Christ Church in Dark Harbor. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Islesboro Pre School, P.O. Box 88, Islesboro, ME 04848.

Olivia- Please accept my deepest sympathies on the passing of Godfrey. It was always wonderful to see him at Exeter and Harvard reunions and at Pilgrims receptions.
