The Waldorf family would like to express our sadness and deep sorrow on the unexpected death of Ira Bartfield at the age of 84. Ira was a valued member of our family; a loving and caring companion to Bernice Waldorf, a father figure to Susan, Jay and Andrew and an adoring grandfather to Palmer. Ira will be dearly missed as a member of our immediate family. We will miss his wisdom, his gentle unassuming ways and we are grateful for the ten years that we have spent with him.

Ira, rest in peace.

I worked with Ira for many years as a secretary at Fuchsberg & Fuchsberg. What a great guy! I used to watch his secretary doing his work, never without an open dictionary. I thought, oh my God, she must be a little "slow." She was out sick one day and so I filled in for her. Well, out came that dictionary! Ira was a brilliant man who never spoke down to anyone and who always had a good story to tell. He will be missed by many.
