JOHN MCCARTHY Obituary

McCARTHY--John. The partners of Lord, Abbett & Co. would like to express their deepest sympathy to the family of John "Jack" McCarthy on his passing. Jack started his career at Lord Abbett as an analyst in 1960 and rose to become our Chief Investment Officer. He was named Co-Managing Partner in 1983 and retired from the firm in 1992. Jack was an effective and inspiring leader who embodied the values of integrity and stewardship on which our firm was founded. His passion for the market, combined with his unique communication skills and colorful personality made him a legend within the financial advisor community. For those of us who had the privilege of working with him, Jack will be remembered with great fondness and respect. Lord, Abbett & Co

Just an old broker from Philadelphia who got to know Jack over his career and who appreciated his thinking and investment philosophy. May God rest your soul and listen to your insights!
