I have a video of Ed Sullivan Show excerpts from the 1961
musical THE GAY LIFE in which Sterling
Clark danced. At the end of the "Come
A-Wandering With Me" number, led by the
great Elizabeth Allen, came an elaborate Herbert Ross-choreographed dance that climaxed with one dancer, Sterling, leaping over the entire troupe and landing perfectly on his knees in front. That was Broadway Magic...and that was Sterling!

Sterling was a kind, generous, talented and funny man. His soul and warmth will be sorely missed.
