I am so terribly saddened to hear of the death of my old high school friend Teddy Hirsch. It has been more than half a lifetime since we last saw each other (and I was unaware of his long illness) but I have many fond memories of the times we spent together in the late 70s and early 80s. My condolences to his parents and brothers, whom I remember well from those days, and to his wife and children, whom I have never met.

Ted(dy) was a great Fieldston classmate and a warmhearted person, I am so sorry to hear that he has left his wife and two sons all, too soon. Ted was a couple of years ahead of me at law school and greeted me enthusiastically when I got there as a first year, and again when we crossed paths in Washington DC at a professional event. My thoughts and prayers are with the Hirsch family in this most difficult of times.

Oh no! This is very sad. Oddly, I actually thought of him in the last week when I saw that a local gallery was sponsoring a lecture by a musician who makes violins. I remembered Teddy playing improvisational jazz on his fiddle at a talent night. I thought it was so cool. He was also so encouraging to me as I struggled to play violin in the seventh grade orchestra. Peace to Ted and his family and friends.

Ted was a friend and colleague and, at times, "my lawyer" for meetings devoted to the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty and to the International Atomic Energy Agency. He was the consummate lawyer advising to avoid problems and advocating after decisions were made. His intellect and sound judgment were combined with a delightful sense of humor. I shall miss him greatly and extend my sincere condolences to his wife and family. .

Ted was such a welcoming colleague when I first came into the office where he was a pro and I was a novice. I enjoyed talking to him about work, about family, and about life. My deepest condolences to his family.

Although only long-ago friends, I still remember Teddy well and fondly (from Ethical-Fieldston), and regret his early passing. I am so sorry he left you all too soon.
