MATHIAS GUERRAND-HERMES

GUERRAND-HERMES-- Mathias, beloved son, father and brother, dies at age 38 in Paris, France. Mathias passed away surrounded by his family, of heart complications due to cancer. Mathias, who split his life between Paris and New York, touched everyone with his kindness, generosity, and big heart. Mathias worked at Metropole Realty where he was instrumental in restoring a neglected 1912 McKim Mead and White building on Fifth Avenue and 54th Street in Manhattan to its former glory and acquiring a luxury retail real estate portfolio. Preceeding this he founded his own investment capital firm, Blue Growth Capital, and started his career at Alex Brown. Mathias was a lover of the outdoors, sports, skiing, nature, and horses. A fine horseman, he was awarded the Gold Medal of the French National Academy of Sports, and European Polo Champion. Mathias is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Guerrand-Hermes, his children, Lucien, Clea, Anna-Lou, his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Guerrand-Hermes. A funeral service will be held in his memory at the Temple Reforme de l'Etoile, 56 Avenue de la Grande Armee, Paris, Wednesday 28 April at 11 o'clock.
