Dr. Berdon would come to St. Lukes/Roosevelt hospital when I was a Radiology resident from 1993-1997, and show us an infinite number of his cases. He was brilliant and this education is indelibly etched into me as a radiologist. Immeasurable value. God bless him and his soul, forever.

A wonderful radiologist, physician and friend. He was a joy to watch and hear in the earlier days of the SPR meetings when the "giants" debated the finer points of unknown cases! He will be missed!

A great pediatric radiologist who hosted the monthly "Pediatric Radiology" meetings in New York. He brought people together, knew an awful lot, wished to learn more and was a standard bearer for Pediatric Imaging internationally. I admired him immensely.

I will always fondly remember Dr. Berdon's lively discussions that we had witnessed during the monthly meetings of the New York Pediatric Radiology Society in the late 90's and early 2000's. He was a pioneer, and I would like to thank him for lighting the path for the many coming after him, including me. He will be sorely missed.

Walter's enthusiasm for Pediatric Radiology was infectious. He encouraged so many of us to ask questions and strive to answer them. He was not only extraordinarily inquisitive and scholarly, but also a caring and generous teacher and friend. He will be sorely missed, but our memories of him will continue to inspire us in our personal and professional lives.

Heartfelt condolences on the passing of Walter Berdon. As my mentor, at Babies Hospital, he never failed to provoke me to think harder, deeper---a skill which has been extremely useful in my career as a radiologist. Thanks for the teaching!

To the Berdon Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

Walter was a wonderful friend to and teacher of the department of Radiology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital over the decades. A shining example of keeping active and productive in retirement. Enjoyed working with him on history of radiology as part of our friendship.

Walter was an inspirational pioneer and leader in Pediatric Radiology, as well as a unique friend, an enthusiastic sailor, a humorous raconteur ... an admirable human being. He was a mentor and a role model for so many. Now gone, his
legacy lives on. We were lucky to have him among us.
