STEPHEN DOOCHIN Obituary

DOOCHIN--Stephen. NARSAD, the Brain and Behavior Research Fund, mourns the passing on February 16, 2010 of our long serving former Executive Director, Stephen Doochin. He brought remarkable skills and effort to meet our goals of finding better treatments and cures for those suffering from mental illness. His compassion, insight and efforts were vital factors in our organization's growth. Our Scientific Council leadership, our Board of Directors and our staff all share the sense of great loss with his family; his wife, Cheryl Sandler, his daughter, Jamie and his son, Brian. NARSAD will initiate a research grant in his name and memory.

I am shocked and saddened by the early death of my friend, Steve Doochin. He was a upbeat, "can do", enthusiastic person with a great intellect and great sense of humor. I would see him at Sunday School in Nashville weekly and at other social functions growing up in the 60's. My sincere condolenses to Steve's family.

I was so sadden to learn of Steve's sudden passing this week! I worked with Steve briefly last summer, but came to enjoy his mild nature. I am certain he will be sorely missed by all who knew him!
