I am so shocked and saddened by Phil's sudden passing. He was my attorney, a superb attorney, but he always treated me like a friend, with tremendous kindness and warmth. He always took the time to answer my concerns, explain what was going on, and help me fight the good fight, even if it wasn't a million dollar case. I will miss him tremendously.

Phil was a wonderful guy. I had the pleasure of working for him for several years, and it was always a pleasure. I will miss him.

As a lawyer Phil put his client before all things. Neither money nor acclaim motivated him. Rather it was always his client’s best interest. If his client had to meet an unkind fate, Phil would always rush ahead to take whatever blows he could so that his client wouldn’t have to. He treated his family and friends the same way. In fact, Phil believed it his duty to serve himself last. Not because he believed he deserved less, but because he believed that his own good fortune obligated him to help those in need of him. Phil was always old fashioned in a world grown too new fashioned. We will miss him all the more when we fully realize how much we needed him.

Phil was a wonderful human being, caring, super bright and funny. He always lifted my spirits. We were lucky to spend time with him two days before his passing and we had such a good time. Taken from us too soon, our deepest sympathy to Phil's family and friends.

My condolences to Phil's friends and family. Always upbeat and positive, he was a professional that I could always count on and a loyal friend.

Taken from us much too early, as his book was clearly not nearly complete.
