MARCEL BOLLAG Obituary

BOLLAG--Marcel. Loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Marcel Bollag, 92, of North Caldwell, passed away on January 7, 2013, after a long illness. A philanthropist and WWII paratrooper, Marcel received a Purple Heart. Marcel had a passion for hockey and was the longest living ticket holder for the N.Y. Rangers. We will remember Marcel for his never ending kindness, humility, love of family, and giving to others. Marcel was the founder of Pella Windows and Doors, of New Jersey and owner until 1990. We will indeed miss you, Daddy, Papa, Marcel. With our love, Carol and David Sidman, Lisa Sidman and Danny, Camryn, Dylan Sanchez, Brian, Ashley, and Sunnery Sidman.

Marcel, wherever you are in the universe, we love you. We love your courage, your bravery, your straight forward determination, your entrepreneurship, your chutzpah, your ability to discriminate and act rightly, your leadership, your love. Well done Marcel. You made an impression on me one night in a french restaurant on the lower east side in March of 1973. Very nice exchange back then. I wish you well. Continue to bless us from your abode in whatever dimension your residing in. All the best. Bye for now.

We admired and loved Marcel Bollag as the finest Gentleman and kindest Friend. We are grateful for the 40yrs of his friendship -and- the value of such a unique and loyal Client...( surely our favorite by far!) We will miss both Marcel and his marvelous wife, Anita, with whom we shared many memorable hours that now will live always in our hearts. Our prayers to his Family,

We are French and were very close to Anita and Marcel for decades because of his action and escape while a POW. He came many times to visit us in Normandy and we visited him several times and twice since he was hospitalized. Quite a friend, quite a man. See you later Marcel.
