Just this evening, I asked Nina on Facebook how you were. Then I saw your obituary from last year. I am so saddened by your loss. Although it has been many years since we last spoke, I remember vividly how you were here twice a week to give my beloved late husband, Martin, and me a workout on the floor of our foyer. I still remember all the exercises and our very long and intimate talks. I will always miss you. My saddest condolences go out to Nina, Michael, Sophia and Lucas, all of whom you loved so dearly.

Ruth -- I looked for you on the Internet today to say hello, and I now see that I am too late. Tears are falling. Thank you for your friendship and support while I was a chemistry student at Hunter College in the 1970s.

Richard and I just learned of Ruth's passing. We met Ruth many years ago walking dogs in Central Park. She became a dear friend for many years. At her fantastic and very crowded parties, we met loads of inspiring people most of whom had been lovingly influenced by her professionally and personally. We are very sad that Ruth is no longer with us. She was an inspiration to us at a critical time in our lives and that inspiration lives on. Barbara & Richard

Dear Ruth, with great sadness my wife and I hear about your passing. But with great joy and thankfulness we think back to the wonderful long conversations we had with you two years ago about the old days, your involvement with music on many levels including Kolberg, Furtwängler, Bernstein, and in particular your friendship with the family of the famous pianist Claudio Arrau who we greatly adore. At that time you spoke with much fondness of your friendship with another Ruth, namely Claudio's wife. And you kindly let us copy a photo of hers she had given you and inscribed "Meiner geliebten Ruth". It is now my great pleasure to attach this photo here - may thus Claudio's Ruth greet "our" Ruth one more time! And may your spirit live on in the memory of the many people you touched and encouraged through your vigor and positive energy. Although we have known you only briefly, you will always live on fondly in our heart. And next time we come to the city, we will visit both the "Three Guys" in your honor, and go to that Japanese "All You Can Eat" that you so recommended for when we see you next time.

What a beautiful service today...I'll always call her Miss Jody, having known her from our building since I was a child a number of decades ago! The most enormous contingent from there showed up today, each one of us still passing through the lobby hoping to again hear her exhuberant call of our names and her boundless encouragement and unfailing faith. Thank you so, so, so much, Miss Jody...xxxxxooooooo

Ruth I will miss you deeply.I remember our meeting as if it were yesterday-- 23 years ago in that Chemical Bank on lexington and 86 St. First you became a client and then a good friend. We had so many discussions throughout the years--many about your children and of course your grandchildren whom you adored. You advised me when my daughter was taking a foreign language in school which of course had to be spanish, and we got together in your apartment and you convinced her to continue with the language and study abroad, which she did by doing a semester in Seville. And I will remember the lunches and meetings we had which always started out business related, discussing market philosophies and ending up just spending time together and talking--------

Dearest Ruth,
There was a time,
and it's long gone by,
when we would dance together,
you and I.

I know you are doing the equivalent of a jig somewhere on the celestial plane. We had such wonderful adventures on this terrestrial plane that it is no stretch to say our encounter has dramatically shaped my present realty. For, when I had crashed and burned, you nurtured my spirit with laughter and pure joy and made me live again. So, until we meet again ...!

I remember the kindness and help that Ruth extended to my late husband Barney both of whom were suffering from dizziness. Ruth was amazing in her positive attitude and concern which she imparted unsparingly. My deepest sympathy and love to the family. And Michael I wish that I could be of help to you as you were
to me on Barney's passing.

I am from Summerville, South Carolina, and Ruth was a long-time and generous member of the International Primate Protection League, a non-profit I founded in 1973. She came to one of our biennial conference in Summerville and met our 30+ gibbons and was so excited by them. A few years back she organized a benefit for us at her lovely home (catered by Nina). Laura Bontrager and her group Cello provided the music. Ruth and I were opera junkies and I stayed with her when I came up to the New York for Met trios. She was a wonderful hostess ansd we really enjoyed going to the restaurant on the corner, I think it was called 'The Two (3?)Guys?" I adored Ruth and shall always miss her. Thanks for your hospitality and for being such a wonderful person, Ruth.

I could go on and on about what a wonderful person Ruth was...there was so much to her. Her zest for life, her amazing spirit, her gift for finding the good in people...I'm just glad I knew her and sorry she is gone.

I am so terribly sadden by your passing. I love you so much Ruth. I loved listening to your stories. I loved how passionate you were about so many things. I loved the way you said my name. You were braved and you truly lived life. Thank you for trusting me with so many of your secrets. I was always tickled when you confided in me. I am glad we were able to spend so much time together in the last month. We had such fun and it was my way of saying thank you for all that you've done for me. I Love you forever. Until our paths cross again, Lourdes
