Our "Grandpa Wally" was a shining light in the family, our family "lighthouse" who helped us navigate out of many a rough water. More than that, though, he was our inspiration and he kept up our faith and hope, as he gave new meaning to the words hard work, dedication and perseverance. It is a proud achievement – and no surprise – that Grandpa was able to finish the 3rd volume of his Magnum opus, his "Dictionary of Eldercare Terminology," at the age of 95! Each moment spent with our Grandfather was precious and you never knew what to expect; indeed, it was like opening up an oyster and wondering if there was going to be a pearl – or a diamond! He will be missed but his light will still shine as a beacon guiding our family – and we will follow.
Love,
Robert and Jonathan, his grandchildren

My condolences to the Feldesman family on the loss of dear Walter. When I was still young in the business of Wall Street, Walter and his partner Justin hired me, even though I was a relatively unknown. I loved being around Walter because he carried himself like the royalty he was. A step into his office and you knew he was the legal brain right out of central casting. I always got a kick out of visiting him and never left him without having a deeper respect for his ability. Rest in peace, Walter, you've earned it.

Walter was an extraordinary man whose brilliance , kindness .patience and kindness could not be compared. He was a class act and had the ability to make you laugh in the midst of chaos. His character or integrity couldn't be compromised
You are one of the few attorneys who gave your profession a good reputation My sincere condolences to his family and hopefully all the memories of your wonderful father will help support you during this difficult time.
I will always love and miss you. Rest in Peace.

The leadership of the National Council on Aging (NCOA) mourns the passing of Walter Feldesman, age 95, who was the first recipient of NCOA's Vital Aging award. He was an exemplar and an inspiration for all of us about how we can keep making important contributions to the lives of others well into our 80's and 90's. His Dictionary of Eldercare Terminology was and still is a groundbreaking opus. Walter was our friend and he will be missed. We are proud to carry on his commitment and his work on behalf of vulnerable and disadvantaged older adults.
