I just learned that Jim has left the planet. We were good friends for too short a time in the 1970's -- hung out quite a bit in Plattsburgh and a couple of times in NYC. Others may enjoy seeing the attached nostalgia shots I dug up.

" Lotus blossom, a pebble falls into the pool, but where do the ripples from my heart go?" You left that tiny note for me on the door of my Mason Hall dorm 50 years ago and I fell instantly (and permanently) in love. Two nights ago I was standing backstage at the SSITP production of Hamlet, when those lines suddenly came back to me. I went instantly to Google and found this obituary-with despair. I´m not spiritual, but I can only hope the timing means that you were shining your exuberant bright light down on us. I do know one thing for certain: the crowd above gave you a standing O the minute you appeared.
Great love ever,
Mags

I think about you every single day. I quote you all the time, to children, pets and police officers. I have explained, 'seagull cakes', to many people, explaining, as you did, that it is tofu, and only makes sense if you don't think about it.
Love Always

Jim -
Even after all these years, I still think of you often, and I look forward to seeing you again, someday. You are one of the funniest and most creative people I've ever known.

Jim was one of the most special & charismatic persons I have ever known. Absolutely brought intelligence, joy & laughter to every day I spent with him. We met in college & somehow ran into each other a few times over the following decades. I am just learning of his passing now---way too late. May you Rest in PEACE Jim, you were truly someone I loved.

Jim was one of my closest friends when we were in high school. He was one of the funniest and most imaginative people I know. We hung out together, played on the tennis team, and had a lot of interesting conversations. He had impeccable taste in music, and introduced me to a wide range of types of music and musicians that I still listen to today. We went to quite a few concerts at the Fillmore East, and we hitchhiked to Woodstock and back, together (We did not sleep in the mud). I hope I see him again, someday.
