NORMA BASCH Obituary

BASCH--Norma, nee Woloshin, of New York, NY and Truro, MA, born July 4, 1934, died September 29, 2015, on Cape Cod. A professor of American History at Rutgers the State University Of New Jersey from 1979 to 2004, Norma was the author of two groundbreaking works of feminist legal history, Framing Divorce: From the Revolutionary Generation to the Victorians and In the Eyes of the Law: Women, Marriage, and Property in Nineteenth-Century New York. She leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Sheldon, her children Rachel and Fred, her daughter-in-law Susan, and her three grandchildren, Nathaniel, Hannah and Emma. A graveside service will be held for the family. A memorial service is planned for Sunday, October 25, at the Village Temple in NYC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Caroline's Gift, Newtown Youth & Family Services, 15 Berkshire Rd., Sandy Hook, CT 06482.
