He painted this in the mirror... said, "I'm not left handed, just not good enough." He was plenty good... plenty!

My heartfelt condolences to Kate, Marc
and Molly. What fun and delightful times
my first husband Leo Kerz and I spent with
our mutual friend Jim Hamilton in
New York, Lambertville NJ and at Martha's Vineyard.
A supreme artist and teacher, he painted with heart and soul. I am
proud to say I purchased the first work
of art in my collection from Bob. It is a festival of July 4th fireworks in
Edgartown ...influenced by Dufy...but
definitely Rabinowitz. It has an esteemed place in my home in Darien.
An artist by day and philosopher by
instinct...a dull word never emerged
from him. I was lucky enough to see
both Jim and Bob last year at the
Al Hirschfeld exhibit at the New York
Historical Society. A long leisurely
lunch, typical of men of ideas. WE
nostalgically remembered the "days
gone by"...
good times and the not too good"
But we were all alive and survivors and
facing advanced age with a smile.
I send Kate and the family our fondest
regards. Louise, Jonathan and Antony
Kerz.

Funny, kind, talented, and a joy to 'kibbitz' with over the 20 years we saw one another at Jules Fisher's office. He read my stories, and told me his, and gave me one of his paintings when i retired. I treasure it, as i treasured all the times he brightened my day.

Mr. Rabinowitz was a familiar and friendly face at my NYC office for the 8 years I was there. Over the course of that time, we developed a friendship that I'll cherish forever. He was always there with a smile, called us "his muses", and was interested in my life and wellbeing. I moved across country to Colorado about 10 months ago and he gifted me a lovely English landscape painting that I've hung in my new bedroom. I always have his sweet face looking at me, even at my new desk in a different time zone. I'm grateful to have known him and hope that he is at peace. Sending love and appreciation to his family. May his memory live on forever...
