CHRISTOPHER FORSTER Obituary

FORSTER--Christopher A.,

of New York City died peacefully at home on January 31st after a brief reoccurrence of cancer. He was born on October 12th, 1932 and grew up in Garrison, NY. He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Betsy; his children: daughter Julia and her husband, John Thompson; son David and his wife, Michele Schnyder; daughter Emily and her husband, Joe Tappan; six wonderful grandchildren and many terrific nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his identical twin brother, Hamilton; sister Sheila Morris; and his brothers Henry and Bayard. He was a graduate of Groton School and Yale University Class of 1954, and spent his entire professional career as an insurance broker and Managing Director with Marsh & McLennan Companies. For his unwavering dedication and involvement in Yale and the Class of 1954, he was awarded the Yale Medal in 2004. He was a loyal member and former president of The Yale Club of New York City and The Phelps Association. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 20th at Noon at The Church of the Holy Trinity, 316 East 88th Street, NYC. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Christopher A. Forster Yale College Class of 1954 Scholarship Fund, c/o Yale University.
