Kent Sager Obituary
Kent graduated from Permian High School in 1981. Kent was proud to be a part of the MOJO Football legacy. He considered it an honor and a privilege to have been a member of the 1980 State Championship team. He attended Eastern New Mexico University.
He graduated from U.T.P.B. in 1987 with a degree in finance.
He enjoyed his early years in banking where he gained life-long friends. Kent began his career in orthopaedic sales in 1989 where he worked for the same company for over 23 years. His job afforded him the opportunity to meet and become friends with countless good people in the medical field which he considered family.
Kent & Manon married on December 17, 1994. Kent knew Manon was a gift from God and cherished his time with her. She gave him a wonderful son that filled him with joy. Kent & Manon enjoyed fine foods together and sampling unique dishes. He loved watching every food and cooking show on television and enjoyed spending time at the movies with Noah.
Kent was a member of CrossRoads Fellowship Church for 20 years. He loved his church family where he counted it a blessing to be able to serve in the Junior High and High School youth groups and Celebrate Recovery Ministries.
He touched more lives than we can ever know with his honesty and openness with struggles he experienced during his lifetime. Through the good times and bad, Kent loved his Lord and the family He gave him.
Kent remained concerned for the salvation of others even through his last days. Even now, he has prayer warriors in place to pray for those he loved most.
Kent wanted to express how thankful he was to his liver donor and her family and God for the year he was given to watch his son mature into a young man of whom he was infinitely proud.
The family wants to give thanks to God for the time He gave us with Kent, for the lessons we learned through him, and love we received from him. We want to thank all those who loved Kent and prayed for Kent during the last year and a half. We want to thank all those who have loved us and prayed for us. God is truly good.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy & Coralee Sager. He is survived by his wife Manon Sager of Odessa, son, Noah Sager of Odessa, brother, Tommy Sager & wife Liz of Odessa, nephews, Michael Sager of Lubbock & girlfriend Carly Robbins of Waco, & Brian Sager & wife Brittain of San Antonio, & mother-in-law, Diana Acton of Odessa.
There will be a visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 at CrossRoads Fellowship Church with Rev. Griffin Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are: Brett Barham, Jimmy Morris, Cliff Alexander, Chris Tschauner, Derrick Bush, Shelby Mobley. Honorary pallbearers are: Joel Erickson, Ricky Reynolds, Mark Windham, D. R. Nichols, Roland Gladden, John Wilkins Sr., Skip Ashton, Blakke Davis, Stewart McWilliams & Matthew Levant.
The family requests memorials may be made to CrossRoads Fellowship Youth Missions, Twice Blessed House @ Baylor Hospital in Dallas or Home Hospice of Odessa.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

My sweet precious and FAITHFUL friend. I always knew you were something special but it was you who made me feel so special. In the midst of your battle you tried to help me fight my battle with depression and heartache. You have loved and encouraged my girls like no one else I can think of. You have given Brookes the courage to fight her lupus with FAITH and use it to glorify God in whatever he has planned for her. Your precious wife and son have graciously shared you with hundreds...wow, what a testimony! You have left an amazing legacy in Noah. I see not only you but I see Jesus everytime I look at him. Thank you for loving and standing up for me and my girls when we felt so abandonded and alone. I can't wait unitl we meet again!

Manon, we don't know you but we thought the world of the Sager Family. I was best friends with Coralee and worked with her for 20 years. I watched Kent grow from a little boy to a great Christian man. I want you to know that we're thinking of you and Noah. May God bless you.

To the Sager family...,I to am saddened by the passing of Kent. He was such a sweet,kind person. He would come by my ofc and we'd get into discussions about football & end up talking about scriptures in the Bible. If I was on the phone he would wait until I was off. I can't remember the orthopedic co. he worked for, but he was the best!!! Kent I know that God called you home to give you rest...I'll miss you my dear friend.RIP

My Mom and Coralee were best friends for many years. I was a few years behind Kent in school, but I knew his family well through my Mom and Coralee. I was at that championship game!

Kent your will surely be missed, I grew up with your entire family, considering my brother was your best friend growning up. I also know the Acton Family that we were neighbors with for a few years. I remember that James was going to play golf with you on the 10 Reunion but was killed in a car accident 3 weeks before the reunion. I will be thinking of your family and you for a long long time.

We knew Kent through our daughter,Teresa, as they were classmates at Permian High School and our son, Doug who played on the 1984 team and was inspired by Kent.
Yes, Kent inspired many and touched countless lives with his honesty and openness. He also put a face on the word "COURAGE."

Kent was all of the Orthopaedist's right hand in this Permian basin. Our succeses were, in part, secondary to his efforts in our patient's behalf. Further, his personal friendship with each and every client was, at once, both unusual and appreciated. My own friendship with his family embellished the professional experience. "Sorely missed" is not enough.

To Manon, Noah & the Sager family - I had the privilege of working with Kent at First Republic Bank in 1987-88 and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him. He did a great job but more importantly was an outstanding person. I am so sorry for your loss & sorry that I did not keep up with him very well over the last 24 years. Kent was the first boy I met when I moved to dowling in the 4th grade he lived down the street from me. I spent hours and hours at his house .
