Norma Alling Obituary

ODESSA Norma Jean Alling, age 54, of Odessa, passed from this life on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Medical Center Hospital.

She was born in Las Cruces, NM on June 27, 1957 to Joseph Burton Holzer and Mary Frances (Lasley) Holzer. She studied accounting and business and also worked in housekeeping. Norma Jean married Douglas Alling in Cloudcroft, NM on December 19, 2001.

Norma Jean was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend who was generous and thoughtful. She always remembered special dates and never missed a loved one's anniversary or birthday. If she was your friend, she was the best friend you could have. She could play it cool and was known to bet her sunglasses over a game of pool.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her husband: Douglas Alling of Odessa; parents: Joseph and Mary Holzer of Lovington, NM; daughter: Frances Wickliffe of Kansas City, MO; step sons: Brian Alling, Clay Alling, Blake Alling and Dean Alling; step daughters: Heather Alling, Mandy Alling and Cami Alling; foster children: Phillip Compary of Corpus Christi and Cristy Compary of Denver, CO; brother: Newman Coburn and wife Annette of Odessa; three sisters: Cynthia Sanchez and husband Earnest Sanchez, Jr. of Lovington, Helen Lucero and husband Tony Fillman of Odessa and Anna Holzer of Lovington; thirteen grandchildren and cousins: Jr. and Diana Tindol; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Memorial services to honor her memory will be 11:00 am Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by
Pastor Brian Serrano. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and condolences to the family may be sent online at acreswestfuneral.com.
