Alvin Altieri Obituary
He was born February 11, 1940, in Cecil, to Alvin and Anne Kraynak Altieri, who preceded him in death.
On April 28, 1985, he married Anne Grudevich, who survives.
Mr. Altieri was a retired veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force for 37 years and retired as a senior master sergeant.
He was a member of American Legion Post 944 in McMurray, where he served as an adjunct and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 764 in McMurray.
Mr. Altieri enjoyed bowling and was also inducted into the bowling hall of fame.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by two brothers, William G. Altieri (Joyce) of Canonsburg and Gerald S. Altieri (Susan) of Cecil; sister Elizabeth A. Baumgarten (Gene) of Bethel Park; eight nieces, Deborah Lombardo, Dianna Ammon, Kimberly Hunt, Susan Wright, Karen Passieu, Cathy Jenkins, Sarah Grudevich and Maria Harlan; four nephews, Gerald Altieri, Gene Baumgarten, Robert and David Roth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Linda M. Roth.
He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Tillie.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday, March 31, in Holy Child Roman Catholic Parish, 212 Station Street, Bridgeville. Guests are asked to meet at the church. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Cecil Township.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Washington Area Humane Society, 1527 PA-136, Eighty Four, PA 15330; ALS Association, 416 Lincoln Avenue, Millvale, PA 15209; or Gallagher Home Health Services, 1370 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, PA 15017.

I remember when we used to go see you and Uncle Joe play in the bar on route 19! It was so cool to have a cousin and Uncle play in a group at that time! I really miss you and think of you often! Maybe you and Uncle Joe are making songs up in Heaven! Love and miss you Alvin!
